So, you’ve decided to move to Ankara; and you’re considering registering you children at the Ernst-Reuter School. You probably have many questions that need answers. Questions about education can be addressed to the school administration. Financial topics can be answered by our financial officer. The parents’ council can help you with any questions you have about how to best integrate your children in the school and getting used to life in the city of Ankara. You can reach the parents’ council via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Your contact people will be Charwoman Mrs Biever-Madsen and her alternate Mrs Adanir. We can communicate with you in English, German and Turkish. Once you know which grade your child will attend, we’ll put you in touch with the parent representatives for that grade.
The students at our school are always excited when new friends arrive and quickly help them join the class. Children greet their new classmates in the foyer on the very first day of school and take them to class. On the first day of school we have a gathering under the plane tree in the schoolyard, during which our principal introduces the new students and teachers to the staff and student body.
For more information about the school, please take some time to read through ‘Welcome to Ankara’, the brochure that the parents’ council has prepared for families newly arrived in the city. You will also receive a printed copy of this document in the welcome packet our principal will give you during your acceptance interview. You can also download it as a PDF document from our website.
We are excited about your arrival in Ankara!
