The students of IB1 travelled to Istanbul with Ms Ahmad and Ms Bahçeci for an exchange of ideas regarding the IBDP with grade 11 students at IELEV. Students in both schools are involved in the multi-lingual IB program. This was great, because students could discuss the issues that they experience while participating in this programme.
The students of both schools presented their CAS activities and spent time swapping ideas about this aspect of the IB programme. Advances were discussed, as was problem solving for topics like time management. Both sides were able to propose solutions. The ERS teachers attended IELEV classes as well. The students and teachers were very engaging.
Then on Friday the students and teachers went sight-seeing in Istanbul, visiting the Beyberbeyi palace. Overall the students and the host families in Istanbul were very kind and friendly. This exchange of ideas enriched us all. We made new friends and came away with much new information and good impressions.
